Petar Novaković is an accomplished leader in airport development and infrastructure, currently serving as the Airport Development Director for VINCI Airports at Belgrade Airport Nikola Tesla. With over two decades of experience, he has been instrumental in transforming Belgrade Airport through public-private partnerships and overseeing major expansions, including strategic and technical planning to align the airport’s growth with regional and global aviation demands.

Starting in sales and marketing, Petar quickly transitioned to engineering and project management at Belgrade Airport, where he rose to lead development initiatives. His expertise in large-scale airport projects shines in efforts like the Belgrade Airport Master Plan through 2043, capacity expansions, and significant upgrades across terminals, aprons, and access infrastructures. Notably, he played a critical role in the operational readiness and launch of the new runways, leading complex ORAT processes, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with high safety standards.

His work often requires a delicate balance of technical leadership, stakeholder management, and diplomatic collaboration with government agencies, particularly during the transition to private management under VINCI. Petar is also an active speaker at international conferences, representing Belgrade Airport’s development projects, and has been recognized for his contributions to infrastructure strategy.

Petar is a committed mentor and guest lecturer at the University of Belgrade, sharing his insights in air traffic engineering with future industry professionals. Beyond his professional pursuits, he has a long-standing passion for folk dance and music, which has enriched his global perspective.
